-ABOUT THE POSITION
California Kitchen Exhaust is a small, locally owned and operated commercial kitchen exhaust cleaning company serving San Diego County and surrounding areas.
We are growing and looking for a dependable, hardworking technician to join our team.
This is primarily a NIGHT-SHIFT POSITION. Please do not apply if you are unable to work overnight hours.
-WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
As a Kitchen Exhaust Cleaning Technician, you will work with another technician servicing commercial kitchens throughout San Diego County and surrounding areas.
All kitchen exhaust system cleanings are performed STRICTLY IN ACCORDANCE WITH NFPA 96 STANDARDS and California Kitchen Exhaust cleaning procedures. Technicians are expected to learn, follow, and maintain these standards on every job.
-Job duties include:
• Cleaning commercial kitchen exhaust hoods, ducts, fans, filters, and related equipment
• Performing kitchen exhaust cleaning in accordance with NFPA 96 standards
• Using commercial pressure-washing equipment
• Applying commercial degreasers and cleaning chemicals
• Scraping and removing grease buildup
• Setting up and protecting kitchen equipment before cleaning
• Working on rooftops and using ladders
• Cleaning and maintaining work areas
• Taking before-and-after photos
• Loading, unloading, and maintaining equipment
• Traveling between customer locations in a company vehicle
• Following company safety procedures and cleaning standards
• Kitchen equipment cleaning
• Exhaust fan installation and repairs
-SCHEDULE & AVAILABILITY
This position primarily requires NIGHT AND OVERNIGHT AVAILABILITY.
-GENERAL WORKING HOURS: 6:00 PM – 10:00 AM
Actual start and finish times vary depending on the jobs scheduled. Employees will not normally work this entire time period. This is the general window during which jobs may be scheduled.
-DAYTIME AVAILABILITY IS PREFERRED, as some service calls, repairs, installations, training, and other scheduled work may take place during daytime hours.
Applicants with flexible availability for both nighttime and daytime work are highly preferred.
-PAY
$21.00–$23.00 PER HOUR
Starting pay will depend on experience, qualifications, and ability.
There will be a PERFORMANCE AND PAY REVIEW after successfully completing the 3-month probationary period.

• Valid California driver's license
• Reliable and punctual
• Able to work overnight hours
• Comfortable working on rooftops and ladders
• Able to perform physically demanding work
• Willing to get dirty and work around grease and cleaning chemicals
• Able to follow instructions and company procedures
• Reliable transportation to and from work
• Able to work well as part of a two-person crew
• Professional attitude at customer locations
• Willing to learn and consistently follow NFPA 96 cleaning standards
-NO PREVIOUS KITCHEN EXHAUST CLEANING EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.
We will train the right person.
Experience with commercial cleaning, restaurant cleaning, or restaurant back-of-house work is a plus.
