Admiralty Marine, the authorized Volvo Penta dealer on San Diego Bay (2775 Kurtz St, Point Loma), is hiring an experienced marine diesel technician. We run a three-tech crew and have more work than we can take.
THE WORK
- Mobile service at marinas around San Diego Bay plus shop work at our facility - company-dispatched, home every night, Monday-Friday 8:00-4:30, NO WEEKENDS
- Volvo Penta diesel and gas packages: D4/D6/D8/D11, IPS pods, sterndrives - cooling, fuel, electrical, drives, turbos, transmissions
- Factory diagnostic work (VODIA) - we train and certify you if you haven't used it
- Warranty and campaign work to Volvo Penta standards; we handle the paperwork, you handle the wrench
- A dispatch system that texts you your day each morning - jobs, slips, gate codes, parts staged and waiting
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 5+ years hands-on marine diesel or heavy diesel experience; you can run a job solo from diagnosis to sea trial
- Comfortable on boats in slips and on the hard; own hand tools; clean driving record
- Volvo Penta, Cummins, Yanmar, or CAT marine experience a strong plus - Volvo Penta certification puts you at the top of the pay range
WHAT YOU GET
- $32-$42/hr DOE - hourly means hourly, no flat-rate games
