Schedule: Saturday & Sunday; Morning and Evening Shifts
Pay: $25/hr Weekend Positions | $27.50/hr Special Event (HHD)
Overview:
Atlas Defense Group, Inc. is hiring dependable, professional armed security officers for ongoing weekend assignments in San Diego. We are looking for licensed officers seeking consistent part-time work who value professionalism, reliability, and long-term opportunities with a local security company. Additional seasonal and special-event assignments, including upcoming High Holy Days coverage, may also be available to qualified officers.
Ongoing Weekend Positions:
We are currently hiring for weekend armed security guards at a house of worship in the La Jolla/UTC area. Guards will work in teams of two per shift.
Available assignments include:
Weekend morning shifts
Weekend swing shifts
Consistent part-time scheduling.
Opportunities to pick up additional shifts and special assignments as they become available
Applicants should have dependable weekend availability and be interested in maintaining a recurring schedule. Additional temporary assignments, including upcoming High Holy Days coverage, may be offered based on availability and operational need.
Special Event Opportunities - High Holy Days:
In addition to our ongoing weekend positions, Atlas Defense Group is currently staffing upcoming High Holy Days security assignments at the same house of worship. These assignments are paid at $27.50/hour and may be offered to qualified applicants based on availability.

5:00 PM – 11:00 PM — 3 openings
Saturday, September 12:
7:00 AM – 2:00 PM — 4 openings
2:00 PM – 6:00 PM — 2 openings
5:00 PM – 7:00 PM — 1 opening
Sunday, September 20
5:00 PM – 11:00 PM — 5 openings
Monday, September 21
7:00 AM – 3:00 PM — 3 openings
3:00 PM – 9:30 PM — 1 opening
3:00 PM – 7:00 PM — 1 opening
Applicants interested in these assignments should indicate their specific High Holy Days availability when applying. Applicants selected for ongoing weekend positions may also be considered for these and future special-event assignments.
Primary Responsibilities:
Armed guards assigned to this location will be responsible for:
Maintaining a professional, visible, and attentive security presence.
Monitoring entrances, exits, and activity throughout the property using the site’s surveillance systems.
Assisting with access control and monitoring the arrival and departure of members, guests, and visitors.
Conducting routine foot patrols and identifying suspicious, unusual, or potentially unsafe activity.
Responding appropriately to security incidents, emergencies, and requests for assistance.
Communicating and coordinating with the other guard assigned to the shift.
Completing required incident reports and security documentation accurately and promptly.
Following Atlas Defense Group policies, site-specific post orders, and client procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
Current California BSIS Guard Registration & Exposed Firearms Permit
Dependable Saturday and/or Sunday availability
Reliable means of transportation to and from the assigned worksite.
Professional appearance and communication skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a two-person security team
Ability to follow written post orders, company policies, and client procedures
Ability to remain alert and attentive throughout the assigned shift
Preferred Qualifications:
BSIS 16-hours Mandatory Training
BSIS 16-hours Elective Training
2 years of armed security experience
Demonstrated safe firearms handling and proficiency.
Experience working in a house of worship, event, or other public-facing security environment
Strong observation, communication, and de-escalation skills
Experience with access control, surveillance systems, and incident reporting
Flexible availability for additional shifts, special events, and holiday assignments
