The Chapel music venue/Curio restaurant is seeking a dynamic and highly organized Event & Banquet Manager to coordinate and execute a diverse range of events. This role offers an exciting opportunity to craft memorable experiences in collaboration with clients, vendors, and internal teams. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for hospitality, exceptional communication skills, and a knack for managing complex logistics with precision.
The Event Manager oversees all aspects of day-of private event operations ranging from large scale productions to small parties booked throughout the property. This is a hands-on position that requires flexible hours and the ability to work evenings and weekends.
Position reports to the Events Director, and works closely with the sales, restaurant/bar, and venue managers.
Hourly rate + event bonuses
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Manage all aspects of on-site logistics, including venue setup, catering, audiovisual requirements, guest registration and flow, entertainment management, and transportation arrangements
* Coordinate with the client on site throughout each event to ensure events are executed to their satisfaction.
* Check in and manage staff, directing their work throughout the event. Enforce dress code, ensure proper clock-ins/clock-outs, and manage breaks.
* Expedite food service from the kitchen, pacing the delivery of the food per the contract and event flow; keep the kitchen on schedule.
* Lead cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution on event day while maintaining high standards of guest service and hospitality
* Close out each event including ringing sales into the POS system, overseeing cleanup, and writing event report.
REQUIREMENTS:
* 3+ years of proven experience in event planning, event management, or hospitality industry roles with a strong portfolio of successful events
* Great attention to customer service and hospitality, with the ability to anticipate issues and resolve concerns
* Familiarity with catering, banquet operations, and guest services within hospitality environments
* Attention to details large and small and the ability to work well under pressure
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to balance client needs with those of staff
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) along with specialized event management software tools (TripleSeat)
