Smiley Scooter, Inc is looking for a dependable, self-motivated Evening Operations & Closing Specialist for our Anaheim location directly across from Disneyland.
This is a great position for someone who enjoys working independently, doesn't need constant supervision, and takes pride in getting the job finished correctly.
Once fully trained, you'll be trusted to handle much of the evening operation independently - making sure our mobility scooters and other rental equipment are returned, accounted for, organized, cleaned, placed on charge, and ready for the following morning crew.
If you're the kind of person who sees what needs to be done and gets it done without someone standing over your shoulder, this may be a great fit.

## SCHEDULE
This position requires evening and late-night availability. Hours vary depending on the season and business volume around Disneyland.
Typical schedules may include:
* Slower periods: approximately 1:00 PM - 9:00 PM
* Busy periods: approximately 4:00-5:00 PM until midnight
* On particularly busy nights, the shift may occasionally continue until approximately 1:00 AM while remaining scooters are returned and closing responsibilities are completed.
The actual ending time can vary based on business volume, scooter return times, and operational needs.
Applicants must be comfortable occasionally working later during weekends, holidays, summer, and other busy Disneyland periods.
Additional hours and overtime opportunities may be available based on business needs and scheduling.

## COMPENSATION
Competitive hourly pay, with the possibility of additional evening-shift compensation for qualifying hours.
We recognize that dependable employees who are willing to work evening hours, take responsibility for closing operations, and remain later when business requires it bring additional value to the company.
All hours worked are paid, including applicable overtime as required by law.
Employees are paid biweekly.

## WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Your evening responsibilities will include:
* Receiving and organizing returning mobility scooters and other rental equipment
* Making sure scooters and equipment are properly accounted for at the end of the evening
* Cleaning and preparing scooters for the next day's rentals
* Placing scooters on charge and making sure they are ready for the morning crew
* Keeping the work area clean, organized, and ready for the next day
* Assisting customers when necessary
* Identifying and reporting damaged equipment or other problems
* Completing normal evening and closing responsibilities
* Working independently and staying productive during both busy and quieter periods
* Occasionally driving a company-owned small cargo van for a scooter switch-out, delivery, pickup, or other local business need

## LIMITED COMPANY VEHICLE DRIVING
Driving is not the primary job.
Most evenings involve very limited driving, if any. We try to make sure our regular deliveries are completed during the morning and afternoon shifts.
Many scooter movements are simply between our location and the Disneyland area directly across the street.
However, the evening employee must be able and willing to drive our company cargo van if an occasional customer switch-out, delivery, pickup, or similar local need arises.

## DRIVING REQUIREMENTS
Because occasional operation of a company vehicle is part of this position:
* A valid driver's license is required
* Must be comfortable safely operating a small cargo van - not a box truck
* Must be eligible to drive company vehicles under the company's commercial automobile insurance requirements
* A safe driving history is strongly preferred
* Applicants with no recent accidents or moving violations are especially encouraged to apply
* Continued eligibility to operate company vehicles under the company's commercial auto insurance is an important requirement of the position

* Willing and able to work later when business volume requires it
* Comfortable working around and moving mobility scooters
* Comfortable occasionally driving a company cargo van
* Friendly and professional when dealing with customers
* Able to recognize a problem and take reasonable action instead of simply ignoring it
* Someone who takes pride in leaving everything clean, organized, charged, and ready for the next day's operation
* Interested in becoming someone the company can genuinely depend on

## WHY THIS JOB IS DIFFERENT
This isn't a position where someone will stand over you all evening telling you what to do.
Once you're properly trained, you'll have a significant amount of independence.
We're looking for someone we can trust to take ownership of the evening shift, keep things moving, handle normal day-to-day situations, and make sure the operation is properly wrapped up at the end of the night.
For the right person, that independence can make this a much more enjoyable job than a traditional closely supervised shift.
You'll also be working in the heart of the Anaheim Resort area, directly across from Disneyland.
