Kaminskiy Design & Remodeling is an award-winning, full-service design-build remodeling company that has served San Diego homeowners since 2005. We are seeking an experienced Kitchen & Bath Remodeling Technician to join our production team.
This is a hands-on field position for a skilled remodeling professional who takes pride in quality workmanship, pays close attention to details and understands the importance of maintaining a clean, safe and professional jobsite. Our technicians work closely with project managers, carpenters and trade partners to complete kitchen and bathroom remodeling projects to Kaminskiy standards.
Responsibilities
• Perform hands-on kitchen and bathroom remodeling work, including selective demolition, framing, blocking, drywall repair, texture matching, cabinet installation, finish carpentry, trim, hardware installation, fixture and accessory installation, caulking, paint touch-ups and punch-list corrections
• Read and follow construction plans, specifications, installation instructions and project manager direction
• Verify that work is level, plumb, square and consistent with project plans and quality standards
• Identify field conditions, material shortages, damage, plan conflicts or other potential problems and report them promptly to the project manager
• Protect flooring, furnishings and adjacent areas before beginning work
• Maintain clean, organized and safe jobsites, particularly when working in occupied homes
• Assist with material receiving, organization and jobsite inventory
• Communicate daily progress, questions and material needs to the project manager
• Upload jobsite notes and photos using Buildertrend or other company technology
• Interact with homeowners in a professional, respectful and courteous manner
• Direct client questions about pricing, scope changes or scheduling commitments to the project manager
• Properly care for company tools, equipment and vehicles
• Complete quality-control and punch-list work as assigned
• Assist with other residential remodeling tasks based on project needs and individual skill level
Qualifications
• At least five years of hands-on residential remodeling experience, preferably involving kitchens and bathrooms
• Strong finish carpentry and cabinet installation skills
• Working knowledge of kitchen and bathroom construction sequences and common building materials
• Experience with several of the following: framing, drywall, texture, trim carpentry, cabinet installation, tile, fixture installation, hardware installation, painting and finish work
• Ability to read construction plans and accurately measure, lay out and install materials
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently while remaining part of a team
• Dependable, organized and able to complete work efficiently without sacrificing quality
• Professional communication skills and a customer-service mindset
• Comfortable using a smartphone or tablet for daily updates, photographs and project communication
• Valid California driver’s license and an acceptable driving record
• Reliable transportation to company and project locations
• Ability to lift and carry construction materials, climb ladders, bend, kneel and work safely in active residential construction environments, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Basic hand tools appropriate for residential remodeling [confirm before posting]
