**Long-term and urgent foster homes needed**
Ace of Hearts Dog Rescue is urgently seeking dependable, experienced foster homes for three dogs with different placement needs.
We provide approved veterinary care, food, supplies and ongoing rescue support. Foster commitments of at least 2-4 weeks are strongly preferred, with long-term fosters needed for several of these dogs.
Please read each profile carefully and let us know which dog may be the best fit for your home and experience.
MONTE — FOSTER NEEDED BEGINNING 8/17
Monte is a sweet, playful Boxer mix recently rescued from the Palmdale Animal Shelter. He is affectionate, dog-friendly, house-trained and great on leash. He enjoys daily walks, backyard playtime and staying close to his person. He has successfully lived with another dog and lets his foster know when he needs to go outside. Monte can be sensitive to loud noises and may bark when he hears dogs or activity outside. He is also interested in outdoor cats, so a cat-free home is preferred unless the foster can safely manage separation. His current foster can only keep him through August 17, so we need a dependable long-term foster ready to take over at that time.
BLAKE BUTTERCUP — EXPERIENCED ADULT-ONLY FOSTER NEEDED BY END OF AUGUST
Blake Buttercup, also known as Biggie, is an English Bulldog mix returning to California at the end of August. Blake can be very loving and affectionate once he trusts someone, but he has significant behavioral needs and a documented bite history involving adults. He can take a long time to trust new people and may become possessive once bonded. He is also barrier-reactive and should not be shut inside a traditional crate.
Blake requires:
An adult-only home with absolutely no children or regular child visitors
A calm, low-traffic environment
An experienced foster comfortable with bite-history dogs
Careful guest management
Consistent boundaries and safety protocols
Willingness to follow rescue and trainer guidance
This is not a beginner foster placement.
BLUE — STRONG, LARGE-DOG-SAVVY FOSTER NEEDED ASAP
Blue is a newly rescued, four-year-old, approximately 80-pound neutered Pit Bull mix from the Lancaster shelter. He is affectionate, people-oriented and likes sleeping near his foster. He enjoys walks and follows his people around the home. Blue becomes highly excited when he sees dogs, squirrels or other animals and may pull strongly toward them. He has not shown aggression, but he is powerful and can be difficult to redirect once focused.
He needs:
A physically capable foster
Large-breed or bully-breed experience
Continued leash training
A quieter walking environment when possible
Durable toys and hard chews rather than plush toys or soft beds
A handler who can safely maintain control around distractions
Blue may not be suitable for a home where children, elderly family members or inexperienced handlers would be responsible for walking him.
