Company Description Oakridge is a development firm dedicated to crafting meaningful and impactful storytelling through various forms of media. Oakridge is passionate about connecting audiences with stories that inspire understanding and change. Role Description This is a remote unpaid internship role for a Social Media Intern. For that reason, this role is expressly for a college student eligible to earn college credit. Qualifications Strong Writing skills Photography skills and a keen eye for visual storytelling Strong research and critical analysis abilities A passion for film and visual media, creativity, and attention to detail Enrollment in or completion of studies in Film Studies, Media Production, Communications, or a related field is a plus Eight Week Programme Task Over eight weeks, interns work directly with a film producer and former Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions executive to build a repeatable editorial system: locating peer-reviewed and graduate-level scholarship on the economics of the film business, evaluating and verifying it, and translating its findings into practical insight for working producers, investors, and filmmakers. The cohort meets twice weekly in two-hour working sessions — reviewing research, workshopping distillations, and receiving direct editorial feedback — with a structured asynchronous workflow between sessions. The core skill is source literacy: reading an academic paper accurately, identifying its load-bearing finding, verifying every citation and figure against the primary source, and rendering it in clear professional prose. Interns finish with a portfolio of published editorial work and a research-to-publication workflow that transfers to any media, communications, or development role. The cohort's work supports a LinkedIn publishing programme of approximately 200 scheduled posts across the term, developed collaboratively and edited and approved prior to publication.
