We are seeking an experienced dishwasher/lava platos for our beautiful location in Del Mar. We offer competitive pay, in a great work environment for the right candidate.
The Hotel Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen equipment, cookware, dishes, utensils, glassware, and food preparation areas. This position ensures compliance with health and safety regulations while providing support to the culinary team through efficient cleaning, organization, and waste management. The Dishwasher contributes to a safe, clean, and productive kitchen environment that supports exceptional guest experiences.
The position requires a minimum of three years of experience and the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Dishwashing & Sanitation:
-Operate commercial dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently.
-Wash and sanitize dishes, pots, pans, utensils, trays, cutting boards, and kitchen tools.
-Inspect cleaned items to ensure they meet sanitation standards.
-Properly store clean equipment in designated locations.
-Replace dishwashing chemicals and report equipment malfunctions immediately.
Kitchen Cleanliness:
-Sweep and mop kitchen floors throughout each shift.
-Empty trash and recycling containers regularly.
-Maintain cleanliness of employee break areas and stewarding stations.
-Clean walk-in coolers and freezers as assigned.
Equipment Maintenance:
-Clean ovens, grills, fryers, ranges, hoods, and kitchen equipment according to schedule.
-Polish stainless steel surfaces.
-Assist with preventive cleaning of kitchen machinery.
-Report damaged equipment or maintenance issues promptly.
Safety & Compliance:
-Follow all local health department regulations.
-Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards.
-Properly handle cleaning chemicals according to OSHA guidelines.
-Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
-Maintain a safe work environment by cleaning spills immediately.
-Follow hotel emergency procedures and safety protocols.
