We are seeking an FP&A Manager to join our Finance team. This is a full-time, onsite position based in Princeton, New Jersey, reporting to the Financial Controller.
Position
Summary
This role will support financial planning and analysis, management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, KPI reporting, project profitability reporting, ERP reporting improvements, and business partnering across the organization. The FP&A Manager will work closely with Accounting, Operations, Commercial, Project Management, and leadership teams to provide financial insight, improve reporting, enhance ERP-driven financial visibility, and support data-driven decision-making.
The ideal candidate will have strong financial analysis and modeling skills, excellent business acumen, ERP/reporting experience, and the ability to translate financial and project-level results into clear insights for management. Key Responsibilities
Support the annual budget, periodic forecasts, and long-range planning processes
Prepare monthly financial reporting packages, including variance analysis, KPI reporting, project profitability analysis, and management commentary
Analyze revenue, gross margin, operating expenses, cash flow, project margins, customer profitability, and other key financial metrics
Partner with department leaders and project stakeholders to review actual results, understand business drivers, and identify risks and opportunities
Develop and maintain financial models to support forecasting, scenario analysis, pricing decisions, cost analysis, project profitability, and strategic initiatives
Support revenue and expense analysis by customer, project, department, product line, business segment, or other reporting dimension
Prepare project-level reporting, including budget-to-actual analysis, margin analysis, cost tracking, revenue tracking, and forecast updates
Prepare dashboards and reporting tools to improve visibility into financial, operational, and project performance
Support cash forecasting, working capital analysis, project billing visibility, and spend tracking
Assist with board, lender, investor, or executive reporting packages as needed
Partner with Accounting during month-end close to understand financial results and support accurate reporting
Support ERP reporting improvements, including financial data validation, reporting dimensions, dashboard development, workflow improvements, and data integrity initiatives
Identify process improvements related to financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, project reporting, ERP reporting, and data quality
Support ad hoc financial analysis, business cases, ERP cleanup initiatives, customer/project profitability analysis, and special projects as needed Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
5+ years of finance, FP&A, accounting, or related analytical experience
Strong financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis skills
Strong understanding of financial statements, including income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement
Experience analyzing results by customer, project, department, product line, business segment, or similar reporting dimensions
Experience using ERP data to build reports, analyze financial results, improve processes, or support management reporting
Advanced Excel skills, including financial models, pivot tables, lookups, and large data sets
Ability to analyze financial results, identify key business drivers, and communicate insights clearly
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities
Ability to partner effectively with cross-functional teams and senior management
Ability to work full-time onsite in Princeton, New Jersey Preferred Qualifications
Experience in biotech, pharmaceutical, CDMO, manufacturing, project-based, or contract/service-based environments
Experience with NetSuite or a similar ERP system
Experience with project profitability, project budgeting, project forecasting, or customer/project-level reporting
