We combine the warmth and personality of an independent hotel with disciplined operating standards, personal service, and a strong commitment to our guests, team members, and community.
THE OPPORTUNITY
The Front Desk Supervisor is a hands-on shift leader who helps ensure every arrival, stay, and departure is handled with care, accuracy, and professionalism. This role leads the front desk during assigned shifts, supports and coaches Guest Services Agents, resolves guest concerns, and coordinates closely with Housekeeping, Maintenance, and hotel leadership. The right candidate is calm under pressure, highly organized, and willing to step in wherever needed.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
• Lead front desk operations during assigned shifts and maintain a welcoming, professional lobby and arrival experience.
• Conduct shift handoffs, assign responsibilities, communicate priorities, and ensure the team is prepared for arrivals, departures, special requests, and high-occupancy periods.
• Greet, register, and assist guests; verify payment, issue room keys, process departures, and ensure accurate guest profiles and account records.
• Monitor reservations, room status, guest requests, and operational notes in the property-management system; communicate changes promptly to the appropriate departments.
• Resolve guest questions and service issues with sound judgment, empathy, urgency, and appropriate follow-through; escalate significant concerns when necessary.
• Coordinate with Housekeeping and Maintenance to address room-readiness issues, cleanliness concerns, maintenance needs, and guest-impacting conditions.
• Coach and train Guest Services Agents on service standards, hotel policies, system use, cash handling, guest privacy, key control, and emergency procedures.
• Verify shift banks, deposits, adjustments, and supporting documentation; follow all cash, credit-card, security, and audit procedures.
• Maintain accurate communication logs and ensure important information is transferred between shifts and departments.
• Support scheduling, supply inventory, quality inspections, staff meetings, and other front office projects as assigned.
• Perform Night Audit or other front desk functions when operationally necessary.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
• At least one year of hotel front desk or guest-service experience; prior lead or supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; hospitality coursework or certification is a plus.
• Experience with a hotel property-management system; OPERA Cloud experience is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication, professional judgment, attention to detail, and service-recovery skills.
• Ability to prioritize competing needs, remain composed during busy periods, and hold others accountable in a respectful manner.
• Comfort working independently while also collaborating closely with hotel leadership and other departments.
• Reliable availability for a varied hotel schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional overnight coverage.
