The Role
The Swing DI Producer role is a high volume job supporting Senior DI Producers who oversee the final technical and creative polish of a film, tv or special venue project before delivery. This role provides DI finishing support and ensures projects are completed on time, to specifications while managing agreed upon client commitments. This role requires an in-depth understanding of the DI process and tools used to accomplish the following tasks: editorial conform, color grading, SDR and HDR finishing, titling, digital cinema, home entertainment / streaming deliverables, film recording / scanning and archival elements.
Primary Responsibilities
- Track and manage receipt and movement of all media assets to keep conform, color and I/O departments moving forward.
- Flag (VFX, Editorial, Graphics, Sound) discrepancies when elements are missing, late, corrupt or out of sync.
- Interact with the Resource Management team to schedule internal resources for project needs.
- Manage supervised client sessions during evening hours.
- Take lead communications with clients during evening hours.
- Prepare instructions to Artists for morning sessions.
- Prepare “In Progress” hand-off status notes at the end of shift.
- Create and manage work orders, production hub entries and hot sheets associated with projects.
- Take the lead role in DI projects that occur during the swing shift.
- Participate and support in technical discussions to improve the finishing process.
- Communicate any concerns with project delivery or client satisfaction to management on an immediate basis.
- Additional responsibilities as required for specific projects or designated by Senior DI Producers.
Requirements - Experience and skills
- 3-5 years of experience producing or scheduling work through a post-production facility.
- General knowledge of Editorial turnovers (ie EDLs/AAF/Bin)
- General knowledge of DI color science & color transforms (ie P3, BT1886, XYZ)
- General knowledge of VFX (ie Turnover of plates, VFX, support files)
- General knowledge of photochemical procedures and analog workflow
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to take direction from lead producers and stay well organized.
- Clear and effective communication
- Ability to grasp technical concepts quickly and apply them
- This role requires a highly proactive/intuitive candidate that anticipates next steps without waiting to be instructed by the lead Producers
- Overtime is common in this role. Flexibility to stay longer when a specific deadline calls for it.
- Strong working knowledge of Google Suite and Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of non linear finishing platforms like Resolve, Avid, and Premier are not required, but encouraged.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the expected compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required $28 -$35 per hour.
