I’m looking for an experienced boat driver/captain to help operate my 2019 Centurion Ri237 wake boat with a 2026 engine at San Vicente Reservoir in Lakeside for family/friend outings and possible private group events this summer.
Location: San Vicente Reservoir / Lakeside
Schedule: Part-time, seasonal, on-call
Most common days: Saturday and Sunday
Occasional days: Thursday and Friday
Pay: $30–$45/hour depending on experience, licensing, and responsibility. Tips from private events go directly to captain when applicable. 4-hour minimum per outing.
Main responsibilities include:
● Driving the boat safely for wake surfing, wakeboarding, tubing, and general lake use
● Teaching/instructing beginner, intermediate, and advanced riders
● Helping with launch, docking, loading, unloading, and trailering
● Towing the boat/trailer using our truck from nearby storage to the San Vicente launch
● Cleaning, fueling, and helping keep the boat ready for use
● Taking the boat to service or helping coordinate light maintenance when needed
Required qualifications:
● Strong experience operating wake sport boats
● Experience with wake surfing and wakeboarding, including coaching/instructing riders
● Confident towing and launching a truck/trailer/boat setup
● Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
● California Boater Card or equivalent required boating credential
● Responsible, safety-focused, punctual, and reliable
● Friendly and patient with families, kids, first-time riders, and private groups
● Flexible Thursday–Sunday availability with advance notice
Preferred but not required:
● USCG Captain’s License / OUPV “Six-Pack” credential
● English and Spanish communication
● Mechanical or electrical boat experience for basic troubleshooting and light maintenance
● Local San Diego / Lakeside boating experience
