About the role
You'll be the face of Magnolia Kitchen and Bakery at our weekend farmers markets in Poway (Saturday) and La Jolla (Sunday). That means picking up product from our Vista kitchen each morning, driving to market, setting up the booth, selling all day, and returning product and equipment afterward. You'll spend your weekends outdoors, meeting great people, and selling a product that practically sells itself once someone takes a bite.
Schedule
Saturday — Poway Farmers Market
Approx. 5:15am – 2:45pm (~9+ hrs)
Sunday — La Jolla Open Aire Market
Approx. 6:15am – 2:45pm (~8+ hrs)
Compensation
$17.75/hr base pay
All tips kept
Mileage reimbursed at $0.725/mile (avg $32 Poway / $42 La Jolla)
Daily sales bonuses:
$1,000 in sales — +$15
$1,100 in sales — +$25
$1,250 in sales — +$40
$1,350+ in sales — +$60
Clock-in begins at our Vista kitchen at product pickup.
A strong sales person who builds real connection with customers can realistically average $24–30+/hr across the weekend with tips, bonuses, and mileage.
What you'll do:
Pick up product from our Vista kitchen and drive to market each morning
Set up and break down the full booth — tent, tables, displays, and signage
Engage customers, tell the brand story, and drive sales throughout the day
Keep displays fully stocked and visually sharp from open to close
Handle transactions accurately and manage customer flow during peak periods
Return remaining product and all equipment after each market
Who we're looking for:
Natural warmth and energy — you genuinely enjoy talking with people
Reliable and self-motivated
Thrives in a fast-paced, high-energy outdoor environment
Experience in hospitality, food service, or customer-facing sales a plus
Reliable vehicle required — van or truck strongly preferred for equipment transport
Full Saturday and Sunday availability, every weekend
Able to lift and move tables, bins, tents, and market equipment
Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
