About the Role
We are currently partnered with a leading Investment Bank looking to bring on an Investment Banking Associate to join their Technology coverage team in Boston. You will sit at the center of deal execution across the technology landscape, including software and SaaS, fintech, internet, IT services, semiconductors, and tech-enabled services. You will support M&A advisory, capital raises, IPOs, and strategic engagements for high-growth and established technology companies. This is a high-impact, client-facing role. Associates bridge senior bankers and the analyst pool. You will own workstreams end to end, mentor analysts, and interact directly with clients, investors, and counsel.
Key Responsibilities
Transaction Execution
- Support end-to-end execution of M&A, equity offerings, debt financings, and strategic advisory mandates
- Build and maintain detailed financial models (DCF, LBO, merger models, accretion/dilution)
- Conduct valuation analyses using relevant methodologies (comps, precedent transactions, DCF)
- Prepare client-facing materials including pitch books, offering memoranda, and management presentations
- Coordinate due diligence processes and interact with clients, legal teams, and other advisors
Technology Sector Coverage
- Develop deep expertise in key tech verticals such as SaaS, cloud computing, AI/ML, fintech, and digital platforms
- Track industry trends, competitive landscapes, and emerging technologies
- Build and maintain comparable company and transaction databases
Client Engagement
- Participate in client meetings and presentations
- Assist in relationship management with existing and prospective clients
- Contribute to idea generation and strategic recommendations
Team Leadership
- Oversee and mentor analysts
- Review analyst work for accuracy and quality
- Help manage workflow and prioritize deliverables across multiple projects
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field (MBA or equivalent preferred)
- 2–5 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, or a related field
- Strong financial modeling and valuation skills
- Deep interest in the technology sector
- Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving abilities
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
Preferred
- Prior experience covering technology companies
- Familiarity with SaaS metrics (ARR, CAC, LTV, churn, growth efficiency)
- Experience with transaction execution (M&A, IPOs, private placements)
