This role on the Annuity Financial Reporting team supports financial reporting, forecasting, and strategic analysis for Nationwide’s annuity business. The Advisor will work at the intersection of Annuities and Finance, partnering closely with PM&A and business teams to turn results and forecasts into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership.
As part of a lean, high‑impact Finance team, you will play a key role in shaping how annuity performance, forecasts, and business drivers are communicated and understood across the organization. This position offers direct exposure to senior leadership and opportunities to contribute to strategic decision‑making.
Work Location / Hybrid
It is our intention to fill this role in Columbus, OH working at least 2 days in the downtown office to align with broader Finance expectations. However, applications from candidates working remotely who bring critical industry skills and relevant experience may be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with PM&A to translate annuity results, forecasts, and key drivers into clear insights for leadership
- Support development of annuity sales forecasts in collaboration with Business Development, Sales Distribution, and PM&A
- Create executive‑ready materials and messaging for senior leadership discussions and forums
- Conduct proactive business analysis to address open‑ended questions on emerging trends and developments impacting the annuity business
- Shape how key metrics and KPIs are analyzed and communicated, including dashboards and visualizations relied upon by leadership
- Become the go-to resource on key performance drivers, serving as a data expert supporting business cases, projects, pricing needs, and strategic studies.

Reporting Relationships: Reports to the Director/Officer. This is an individual contributor role.
Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: Undergraduate studies in finance, economics, accounting or statistics; advanced degree in financial field is desirable.
License/Certification/Designation: CPA preferred.
Experience: Typically, eight or more years financial experience including financial analysis, planning, forecasting, actuarial or auditing. Insurance industry background desirable. Prefer at least three years project leadership, management or supervisor experience.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: In-depth knowledge of statistical/financial analysis, financial statement and budget preparation. Knowledge of GAAP and statutory accounting practices and insurance/financial services business requirements. Project management concepts and techniques. Prefer familiarity with specific state, product or business unit operations.
Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
