Job Title: HR Coordinator
Location: San Marcos
At this time, we are only considering local candidates who are legally authorized to work in the United States. Relocation assistance is not available.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Some overtime and weekends as needed)
Hours: 40+ hours, Full-time
Pay Range: $25 - $28 per hour (DOE)
Ideal Candidate
We are seeking an organized, positive, and solution-oriented HR professional who enjoys helping employees and supporting business operations. The ideal candidate is approachable, detail-oriented, and able to build strong working relationships across all levels of the organization.
This role supports recruitment, onboarding, compliance, employee relations, leave administration, engagement initiatives, and HR operations. The successful candidate enjoys creating positive employee experiences and has experience planning events, recognition programs, and company activities that strengthen culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and offboarding processes
- Serve as a resource for employees and managers on HR policies, benefits, and employment matters
- Maintain HRIS, employee records, and compliance documentation
- Support compliance programs (labor law, wage/hour, EEO, AAP, I-9, OSHA, DOT)
- Coordinate leave administration and workers' compensation claims
- Assist with safety, risk management, and environmental health initiatives
- Plan employee events, recognition programs, and engagement activities
- Coordinate training programs and meetings
- Create internal communications (newsletters, flyers, presentations, signage)
- Generate reports and assist with HR data analysis
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors
- Provide administrative support to HR as needed
Required Skills
- Knowledge of California labor laws and employment compliance
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle confidential information professionally
- Highly organized with strong multitasking ability
- Experience creating professional communications, flyers, newsletters, presentations, and recognition materials using graphic design and office productivity software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, HRIS, and ATS platforms
Preferred: Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Affinity Publisher, ADP Workforce Now, and recruiting platforms
Physical Requirements
Regular use of hands, sitting, talking, and hearing. Occasional walking, climbing stairs, pushing/pulling, and lifting up to 25 lbs. Vision requirements include close, distance, and color vision.
Work Environment
Typical office setting with low noise levels.
