Your Impact as a Veterinary Assistant
Veterinary Assistants play an integral role in the care of pients, clients, and referring veterinarians CVCA. In this role, you will work directly with board-certified cardiologists to provide high-level medical support, helping the doctor achieve greer efficiency by managing technical tasks, record keeping, and communicion. You will play a significant role in educing clients about their pet's heart health, ensuring they feel supported and informed throughout their visit.
Your Impact Will Include:
- Clinical Support: You will assist veterinarians with exams, triage, surgery, and anesthesia monitoring, as well as performing venipuncture, administering oral medicions, and taking radiographs.
- Cardiac Diagnostics: You will perform specialized tasks such as obtaining ECGs and assisting with Holter monitoring set-up and da collection.
- Compassione Care: You will provide compassione pient care, comforting animals who may be stressed, ill, or in pain, while maintaining a clean and organized facility.
- Client Educion & Service: You will discharge pients, review trement plans and follow-up care with clients, and assist with client service operions like answering phones and scheduling appointments.
- Operional Excellence: You will accurely maintain medical records, prescriptions, and invoices using computer systems, and assist with training new teammes.
Wh You'll Bring to the Team
- High school diploma or equivalent (must be least 18 years old).
- Veterinary assistant experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to stay calm and efficient in emergencies and high-stress situions.
- Strong computer skills (MS Office, Google Workspace) and excellent written/verbal communicion.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry animals up to 40 lbs. Requires prolonged standing, bending, kneeling, and physical activity.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced medical environment with exposure to animal odors, noise, and bodily fluids.
- Ability to travel to secondary locions as required.
