Journeyman Millwork / Woodshop Carpenter

We are seeking an experienced Journeyman Millwork / Woodshop Carpenter to join our fabrication and installation team. This role is responsible for building, assembling, finishing, and installing custom props, retail fixtures, countertops, booths, display elements, and branded environments for live events, retail activations, and touring productions.
The ideal candidate has strong woodworking and millwork experience, understands architectural drawings and commercial specifications, and takes pride in delivering high-quality craftsmanship in fast-paced production environments.
Key Responsibilities
Fabrication & Carpentry
Measure, cut, fabricate, and assemble custom props, countertops, bar tops, booths, signs, and related event materials
Read and interpret architectural drawings, shop drawings, and retail specifications
Ensure all installations are plumb, level, square, and compliant with commercial build standards
Operate woodworking and fabrication equipment safely and efficiently
Drywall & Surface Finishing
Hang, tape, mud, sand, and finish drywall surfaces
Prepare surfaces for paint and finishing applications
Maintain smooth, high-quality finishes suitable for premium retail and experiential environments
Painting & Surface Preparation
Prep surfaces through patching, sanding, and priming
Apply paint and finish coatings to walls, fixtures, and display elements
Ensure clean lines, consistent coverage, and adherence to brand quality standards
Fixture Assembly & Installation
Assemble and install millwork, shelving, cabinetry, display units, and retail fixtures
Assist with onsite installations for trade shows, retail environments, pop-ups, and touring activations
Qualifications
Journeyman-level carpentry or millwork experience preferred
Strong woodworking, fabrication, and finish carpentry skills
Experience with commercial retail environments, events, exhibits, or scenic fabrication is highly preferred
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and technical specifications
Knowledge of drywall finishing and painting techniques
Familiarity with power tools, woodworking equipment, and installation methods
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in deadline-driven environments
Preferred Experience
Scenic fabrication or entertainment production experience
Trade show, convention, or experiential marketing build experience
Experience with custom millwork and retail fixture installation
Ability to work onsite in shop and installation environments
