Job Summary:
The Audit Senior Associate will support engagements across audit, 990 tax preparation, and bookkeeping/client accounting services. The ideal candidate has 3-4 years of recent public accounting experience and can work independently while managing multiple client assignments.
Responsibilities:
Audit & Assurance
Assist with planning and performing audit and review engagements
Prepare workpapers, lead schedules, and audit documentation
Perform account reconciliations, analytical procedures, and testing procedures
Assist with financial statement preparation and disclosures
Communicate with clients to obtain supporting documentation and resolve questions
Tax
Prepare nonprofit 990 tax returns
Prepare workpapers supporting 990 tax return preparation
Organize and review tax information for completeness
Bookkeeping / Client Accounting Services
Perform bookkeeping and month-end close procedures
Prepare reconciliations for bank, credit card, and balance sheet accounts
Assist with financial reporting and journal entries
Work within QuickBooks Online and/or QuickBooks Desktop environments
Support clients with accounting cleanup and ongoing accounting needs
Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
- 3-4 years of experience in public accounting performing financial statement audits.
- Experience with nonprofit organizations preferred.
- CCH ProSystem Engagement, a huge plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks.
- Familiarity with general ledger accounting and account reconciliation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for financial report writing.
- Strong organization, communication, and time-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently in a remote environment
