Hot Diggity Dog Resort in Escondido is hiring a full-time Customer Service & Pet Care Specialist to join our team. We're a busy boarding, daycare, grooming, and training facility, and we're looking for someone who loves dogs, loves people, and wants to build a real career in the pet care industry.
This is more than a job — it's an apprenticeship. You'll cross-train across every part of our business: pet care, front desk and customer service, sales, bathing and grooming, and even basic dog training. As you master each area, you'll help train new team members too. If you're career-oriented and want to grow with us as we expand, we want to hear from you.
What you'll be doing:
Providing attentive, loving care to dogs in our daycare, boarding, and grooming areas
Greeting clients warmly and handling bookings, check-ins/check-outs, and payments at the front desk
Building genuine relationships with clients and recommending the right services for their dogs
Asking happy clients for 5-star reviews (Yelp, Google, Facebook) and referrals
Helping with photos, videos, and social media content to promote the resort
Learning our bathing and grooming processes and supporting the grooming team
Supporting basic dog training sessions alongside our trainers
Keeping pet areas clean, safe, and well-stocked
Filling in across departments when we're short-staffed or busy — including early starts, late finishes, or a scheduled day off when needed
Our hours (you'll work across these as assigned):
Boarding & Daycare: 6:00 AM–6:00 PM, 7 days a week
Bathing & Grooming: 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, Mon–Sat
Front Desk: 6:30 AM–6:00 PM, Mon–Sat
What we're looking for:
A genuine love for animals and commitment to their well-being
Customer service experience preferred, with strong communication and people skills
Comfortable promoting and upselling services to clients
Able to juggle multiple tasks efficiently, often under time pressure
An eager, adaptable learner who wants to cross-train and specialize
Career-minded, reliable, punctual, and trustworthy
A team player willing to mentor and train others
Physically able to lift and handle dogs up to ~50 lbs and stand for extended periods
Nice to have:
Previous experience in pet care, veterinary assistance, or animal shelter work
Familiarity with basic grooming or dog training techniques
Experience in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment
A proven knack for upselling and promoting services
