We are seeking a creative and collaborative Music Director to lead and grow our music
ministry in a progressive Christian congregation. This role works closely with the pastor
and worship team to create meaningful, inclusive worship through a variety of musical
styles.

Responsibilities
Plan and lead music for weekly worship services and special events
Collaborate with the pastor and worship team on service design
Select music reflecting progressive theology and diverse traditions
Lead congregational singing and serve as pianist/accompanist
Recruit, support, and coach volunteer musicians and singers
Develop and direct a member choir or vocal ensemble (as interest allows)
Coordinate rehearsals and manage music resources
Qualifications
Experience in church music leadership or a similar role preferred
Proficiency in piano and the ability to lead congregational singing
Familiarity with a range of music styles (traditional hymns, contemporary, and
popular music)
Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to work with and encourage musicians of all skill levels
Alignment with progressive/inclusive Christian values
Details
Location: Carlsbad, CA
Part-time: ~20 hours/week (includes Sundays and rehearsals)
Compensation: Commensurate with experience
