Salary: $75,000 – $100,000
Hours: 40+ hours per week
Ideal Candidate
We're looking for an Operations Accountant who can move fluidly between a production line conversation and a variance bridge—turning real-time operational data into financial insight that drives decisions. This role serves as the financial liaison to our manufacturing facility, owning standard costing, inventory valuation, and production variance analysis while partnering with the Plant Director and Operations leadership.
Job Duties
- Support monthly physical inventory counts and manage cycle count program
- Work with warehouse team to reconcile variances and identify root causes
- Prepare journal entries related to inventory and manufacturing costs
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts for inventory and production
- Support monthly close and financial reporting
- Analyze plant KPIs (yield, scrap, labor efficiency, downtime, production costs)
- Partner with Plant Director to monitor expenses
- Identify cost-saving opportunities
- Support budgeting and forecasting
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls
- Assist with audits
- Collaborate to improve processes and data accuracy
- Other duties as assigned
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and 3–7+ years of experience, or equivalent combination.
Skills
- 3–7+ years accounting experience (manufacturing preferred)
- Cost accounting and inventory management experience
- ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Dynamics, etc.)
- BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) preferred
- Strong GAAP and internal controls knowledge
- Advanced Excel (pivot tables, XLOOKUP, modeling)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to translate financial data into operational insight
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Physical Requirements
Requires standing, walking, reaching, lifting up to 25 lbs, and working in both office and plant environments.
Work Environment
Combination of office and plant floor; noise level ranges from quiet to moderate.
