Job Title: Director, IT Strategy & Operations

Position Purpose:
The Director of IT Strategy & Operations is a leadership role within our organization. This position will oversee and manage the infrastructure, helpdesk and cybersecurity teams. The Director will play a critical role in shaping the technology strategy, ensuring operational excellence, and driving innovation across the organization.
Key Areas of Responsibilty:
- Infrastructure Management:
- Lead and guide the infrastructure team responsible for maintaining and enhancing the organization's technology infrastructure.
- Oversee network architecture, server management, data centers, cloud services, and disaster recovery planning.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of technology solutions.
- Onsite Event infrastructure set up, monitoring and tear down for multiple auction events per year.
- Cybersecurity Leadership:
- Develop and implement a robust cybersecurity strategy to protect the organization's assets, data, and systems.
- Manage security operations, threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability assessments.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging threats, and best practices to enhance security posture.
- Strategic Planning:
- Work closely with executive leadership to align IT initiatives with overall business goals.
- Define and execute a long-term technology roadmap, considering scalability, efficiency, and risk management.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost optimization.
- Team Development:
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the IT teams.
- Mentor and develop team members, ensuring their growth and professional advancement.
- Promote knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
- Manage and develop small team of event based IC's and Seasonal Staff that support multiple auctions per year.
- Vendor Management:
- Evaluate and select technology vendors, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relationships.
- Ensure compliance with service-level agreements (SLAs) and monitor vendor performance.
- Budget Oversight:
- Develop and manage the IT budget, allocating resources effectively.
- Monitor expenses, track cost-saving initiatives, and report to senior leadership.
- Risk Mitigation:
- Assess and mitigate technology-related risks, including cybersecurity threats, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
- Implement robust controls and governance processes.
Experience/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or 6-8 years of experience managing highly technical teams.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in IT leadership roles.
- Proven track record in managing infrastructure and cybersecurity functions.
- Strong understanding of network architecture, and data center operations.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CCISO are highly desirable.
- Excellent strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Culture
Barrett-Jackson's culture is live and in-person. Team members are in the office 5 days per week, 8am to 5pm at the Scottsdale, AZ headquarters. During live events the company largely travels together to produce and ensure each event is a success. This requires weekend work and long hours. Most will tell you they'd prefer to be nowhere else.
