Role Overview
As a Senior Loan Processor, you will act as a subject matter expert (SME) and lead resource for complex loan files, including DSCR rental loans and Residential Transitional Lending (RTL/Fix & Flip) programs. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong judgment, and exceptional organizational skills. In addition to managing high‑priority files, you will mentor junior processors, resolve escalations, and collaborate closely with leadership to continuously improve workflow efficiency, accuracy, compliance, and the overall borrower experience. This position plays a key role in ensuring operational excellence while maintaining a high standard of customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Ø Pipeline Management & File Ownership
- Manage and prioritize complex and high‑risk loan files from approval through closing.
- Review borrower and entity documentation, validate DSCR calculations, and confirm RTL budgets, scopes of work, and draw requirements.
- Ensure underwriting conditions are satisfied accurately, completely, and within required timelines.
- Proactively identify and address file issues that could impact closing or compliance.
Ø Mentorship & Training
- Serve as a go‑to resource for junior processors, providing guidance on program guidelines, best practices, and problem resolution.
- Promote consistency, accuracy, and professionalism across the processing team.
· Support onboarding and training of new team members, particularly related to DSCR and RTL loan workflows.
Ø Customer Service & Communication
- Deliver clear, proactive, and empathetic communication to borrowers, brokers, underwriters, and internal partners.
- Set expectations effectively and manage challenging conversations with confidence and professionalism.
- Act escalation point for borrower concerns, complex scenarios, and urgent processing issues.
Ø Process Optimization & Risk Management
- Identify workflow bottlenecks and recommend process improvements to enhance speed, quality, and borrower experience.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, investor guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Escalate risk issues appropriately and ensure all decisions, exceptions, and communications are thoroughly documented.
- Monitor internal reporting tools and metrics to support performance tracking and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience
· 5+ years of mortgage loan processing experience, with demonstrated expertise in DSCR, RTL/Fix & Flip, or other non‑QM loan products.
· Proven ability to independently manage complex, high‑volume pipelines while maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
· Advanced knowledge of investor guidelines, underwriting conditions, loan documentation, and closing requirements for DSCR and RTL programs.
· Experience serving as a senior‑level resource or mentor, supporting junior processors and contributing to team development.
· Strong understanding of entity structures, rental income analysis, DSCR calculations, renovation budgets, and draw processes.
· Exceptional organizational, prioritization, and time‑management skills in fast‑paced environments.
· High level of attention to detail with a strong track record of error prevention and quality control.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to handle escalations and sensitive borrower situations professionally.
