Maintenance Technician
Department: Facility Services – Field Operations | Employment Type: Full-Time | Compensation: $23–$26/hr depending on experience | Location: San Diego County
Position Summary
Intersection Facility Services is hiring Maintenance Technicians with experience in commercial tenant improvements and white shell buildouts. This is a hands-on field role working across commercial properties in San Diego County, with additional responsibilities in general repairs, maintenance, and handyman services. You will also sub in for other team members across our facility services divisions as needed.
Core Responsibilities
Tenant Improvements & Buildout
• Tenant improvement (TI) work across commercial properties
• White shell finishing and buildout preparation
• Painting — interior touch-ups and full surface painting
• Drywall installation and repair
• Cove base installation
• Flooring installation
• Ceiling tile installation and replacement
• Minimal plumbing and electrical repairs
General Maintenance & Handyman Services
• General repairs and maintenance across commercial properties
• Handyman services as assigned
• Property inspections and proactive issue reporting
• Coordinating with property managers and the operations team on work order priorities
Cross-Division Support
• Subbing in for other team members as needed, including:
◦ Day porter duties
◦ Power sweeping
◦ Power washing
Minimum Requirements
• 2–3 years of experience in commercial construction, tenant improvements, or facilities maintenance
• Must bring a basic set of personal tools; a detailed tool list will be provided upon hire
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Ability to pass a background check
• Must be punctual, reliable, and able to maintain a consistent schedule
Skills & Qualifications
Hands-on experience in at least several of the following:
• Tenant improvements and white shell buildouts
• Painting
• Drywall installation and repair
• Cove base installation
• Flooring installation
• Ceiling tile installation
• Basic plumbing and electrical
• Comfortable working across multiple service types and able to flex into cleaning/exterior duties as needed
• Dependable, self-directed, and professional when interacting with tenants and property managers
