Hot Diggity Dog Resort is hiring a Grooming Supervisor to lead our grooming department. We're an independent, family-owned pet resort that has been serving Escondido since 2012 — boarding, daycare, grooming, and training under one roof. Our grooming department is small, busy, and built around craft. We're looking for an experienced groomer with leadership experience to run it.
This is not a chain shop. If you've spent years watching corporate grooming departments cut corners — rushed grooms, undertrained bathers, no time for the dogs that need extra care — and you want to run a department the right way, this role is for you. Our owner Penny is a Master Groomer, CPDT-KA Certified Dog Trainer and Animal Behaviorist, and her low-stress handling philosophy runs through everything we do, including grooming.
Who we're looking for
• At least 3 years of professional grooming experience in a salon, mobile, or resort/daycare setting
• At least 1 year of supervisory or lead experience in a grooming department
• Skilled across breed standards, pet trims, and a wide range of coat types
• Confident handling difficult dogs using humane, low-stress techniques
• Strong communicator — comfortable coaching bathers, having direct conversations when needed, and being the face of the department with pet parents
• Organized — you'll own scheduling, grooming cards, inventory, and quality control
• Reliable, on-time, professional, and able to work a full-time schedule including some weekends
• Physically able to stand for long shifts, lift dogs up to ~50 lbs (with assistance for larger), and work safely with HV dryers, slip leashes, and grooming tables

This is a working supervisor role. You will be Grooming dogs, Training and Supervising other groomers and bathers.
