Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Shop Foreman to lead our fabrication and assembly team in creating high-quality exhibit displays. This role involves overseeing the construction, installation, and restoration of exhibit components, ensuring projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to exact specifications. As a key leader on the shop floor, you will coordinate daily operations, mentor team members, and uphold the highest standards of craftsmanship. Your expertise in carpentry, fabrication, and construction will drive the success of our exhibit projects from start to finish.
Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate daily shop activities related to exhibit fabrication, assembly, and installation.
Oversee the use of hand tools, power tools, CNC machinery, and other fabrication equipment to ensure precise work.
Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to guide construction and assembly processes.
Manage material procurement, estimating construction needs including framing, trim carpentry, metal stud framing, concrete forming, and other specialized tasks.
Ensure all work adheres to safety standards and maintains a clean, organized work environment.
Lead quality control inspections throughout the fabrication process to meet project specifications.
Mentor team members
Experience
Proven experience in the trade show exhibit industry
Extensive hands-on experience with carpentry disciplines including trim carpentry, frame carpentry, woodworking, and cabinetry installation.
Strong knowledge of blueprint reading and schematics for complex exhibit structures.
Familiarity with fabrication techniques involving CNC machinery
Experience working on construction sites or in manufacturing settings with heavy lifting and safety compliance.
Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively while maintaining high standards of craftsmanship across diverse construction tasks including roofing, siding, plastering, stucco application and electrical or plumbing installations. Experience:
trade show: 7 years (Required) - Seriously. If you don't have tradeshow shop experience, your resume will not be considered.
onsite work: 1 year (Preferred) Onsite experience working inside a convention on the tradeshow floor is bonus!
