A rapidly growing U.S.-based advanced manufacturing organization is seeking a Manufacturing Operations Director to lead a newly established, high-volume production facility supporting complex propulsion and mechanical systems. This is a direct hire, full-time opportunity with a well-capitalized company entering a significant growth phase. Position Summary
The Inventory & Logistics Manager oversees inventory control, warehouse operations, material handling, and shipping/receiving in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role ensures inventory accuracy, efficient material flow, and compliant domestic and international shipments while leading a team and driving continuous process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management
- Drive inventory accuracy through cycle counts, physical inventories, and discrepancy resolution.
- Maintain inventory control procedures and ensure accurate MRP transactions.
- Investigate variances and implement corrective actions.
- Partner cross-functionally to ensure material availability and traceability.
- Manage excess and obsolete inventory.
Warehouse & Material Flow
- Oversee receiving, stocking, picking, and staging operations.
- Ensure efficient material flow to support production.
- Optimize warehouse layout, organization, and safety compliance.
- Maintain FIFO and lot/serial traceability as required.
Shipping & Logistics
- Manage inbound/outbound domestic and international shipments.
- Coordinate with carriers and brokers for timely, cost-effective delivery.
- Ensure accurate shipping documentation and receiving processes.
- Track freight performance, costs, and claims.
Team Leadership
- Lead and develop warehouse and shipping staff.
- Monitor performance and productivity.
- Promote accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
Process Improvement & Compliance
- Drive Lean/5S initiatives and track KPIs (inventory accuracy, on-time delivery, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and audit requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years in inventory, warehouse, and logistics management in manufacturing.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Knowledge of domestic/international shipping and inventory control practices.
- Leadership experience and strong analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Excel and reporting tools.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with AS9100, ISO9001, or similar standards.
- Knowledge of export compliance (EAR/ITAR).
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
