We partner closely with Operations and Product teams to solve high-impact business problems through analytics, machine learning, and scalable data engineering products.
This is a mid-level Data Analyst role supporting multiple Tesla Residential Energy product lines, including Powerwall, Solar Roof, Retrofit Solar, and Wall Connector. You will perform data analysis, build reporting solutions, and support data-driven decision making across functional teams. Working closely with senior analysts, data engineers, and machine learning engineers, you will develop your analytical skillset while contributing to operational insights and business intelligence initiatives.
The successful candidate is analytically minded, detail oriented, eager to learn, and able to communicate data insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
What You'll Do
Define and maintain source-of-truth metrics and datasets that enable accurate operational reporting and analysisBuild and maintain dashboards and recurring reports using visualization tools to deliver insights to stakeholdersWrite SQL queries to extract, validate, and transform data from multiple sources, ensuring accuracy and consistencyDevelop Python scripts to automate data preprocessing, cleaning, and report generation workflowsPartner with data engineering teams to leverage existing pipelines and identify opportunities for new data productsConduct statistical analysis to uncover trends, correlations, and anomalies that inform business decisionsTranslate complex analytical findings into clear, actionable recommendations for non-technical audiencesSupport process improvement initiatives by identifying data-driven opportunities to enhance operational efficiencyDocument analyses, code, and data processes to ensure reproducibility and knowledge sharing across the team and larger organization
What You'll Bring
Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent experienceProficient SQL user – can write SQL queries using joins, aggregations, windows functions, and filtering techniquesWorking knowledge of Python – can perform data manipulation, cleaning and basic analysis using libraries like pandas and numpyFamiliarity with data visualization tools (i.e., Tableau, PowerBI, matplotlib, seaborn)Understanding of basic statistical concepts and data analysis frameworksStrong attention to detail with excellent organizational skillsExcellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a highly cross-functional environment of technical and non-technical personnelExperience with version control systems (i.e., Git), understanding of causal inference methodologies preferredFamiliarity with renewable energy systems or related industries, exposure to data quality frameworks and testing methodologies preferred

Expected Compensation
$69,600 - $138,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
