Job Overview
TFR Builders is seeking skilled and reliable Drywall & Metal Stud Framers, Hangers, and Finishers to join our growing team. We are looking for experienced professionals who can perform commercial drywall and metal stud framing work safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project plans and specifications.
Projects are located throughout Orange County, Los Angeles County, San Bernardino County, and San Diego County. Reliable transportation is required.
Responsibilities:
-Metal Stud Framing-
Layout and installation of light gauge metal stud framing
Interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications
Install track, studs, backing, bracing, and structural framing components
Ensure plumb, level, and properly aligned framing
Coordinate framing layout with other trades
Follow approved change directives and field instructions
-Drywall Hanging-
Measure, cut, and install drywall panels
Install board on walls, ceilings, soffits, and specialty assemblies
Use proper fastening methods and spacing requirements
Ensure proper board alignment and joint placement
Maintain production standards while meeting quality expectations
-Drywall Finishing-
Tape and finish joints to specified levels (Level 3, 4, or 5)
Apply joint compound, texture, and skim coats
Sand and prepare surfaces for paint
Maintain clean and organized work areas
-Required Skills & Qualifications-
Minimum 2+ years of commercial drywall and/or metal stud experience (Journeyman level preferred)
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and RFIs
Knowledge of metal stud framing systems and drywall installation standards
Familiarity with taping and finishing techniques
Experience with hand and power tools
Understanding of layout, measurements, and material takeoffs
Ability to follow safety standards and jobsite procedures
Reliable transportation and ability to travel between job sites
Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in active construction environments
Strong work ethic and team-oriented mindset

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Must complete Form I-9 documentation
Overtime paid in accordance with California labor laws
Compliance with California meal and rest break laws
Adherence to Cal/OSHA safety regulations
Must use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
