About Global Tire Distributors
Global Tire Distributors is a Southern California–based wholesaler headquartered in Santa Ana, supplying independent tire shops, auto repair shops, and fleet operators across the region with a broad inventory of passenger, light truck, commercial, and specialty tires. We compete on selection, price, and the relationships our reps build in the field. Our customers are busy operators who don’t have time for slow vendors — they need a partner who shows up, solves problems, and helps them keep cars and trucks moving.
Role Summary
We’re hiring an Outside Sales Representative to grow our book of business across Southern California. Based out of our Santa Ana HQ, you’ll spend most of your week in the field — driving the territory (Orange County, LA, Inland Empire, San Diego, and surrounding areas), walking into independent tire shops, auto repair and mechanic shops, and small-to-mid-size fleet yards — introducing Global Tire Distributors, opening new accounts, and bringing existing accounts more of their tire spend. This is a hands-on, drive-your-own-territory role for someone who would rather be on the road talking to shop owners than sitting at a desk.
No tire-industry experience is required. We’ll train you on the product, the brands, and how shops actually buy. What we can’t train is hustle, follow-through, and the ability to walk into a shop cold and earn a conversation — that’s on you.
What You’ll Do
Prospect in person. Drive your assigned Southern California territory daily. Walk into independent tire shops, auto repair and mechanic shops, and fleet yards, introduce Global Tire Distributors, and identify decision-makers (owner, GM, parts manager, fleet manager).
Open new accounts. Convert cold visits into trial orders. Get new buyers set up in our system and walk them through ordering, delivery from our Santa Ana warehouse, and payment terms.
Grow existing accounts. Visit current customers on a regular cadence. Find out what they’re buying elsewhere and bring that volume to Global Tire Distributors by quoting competitively and solving fitment, availability, and delivery issues.
Quote and close. Pull pricing on passenger, light truck, commercial, and specialty tires. Send same-day quotes from your phone or laptop, follow up until you get a yes or a no, and close the order.
Be the customer’s advocate. Coordinate with the warehouse, dispatch, and accounts receivable to make sure orders ship on time, the right tires arrive, and any issues (returns, road hazards, billing) get resolved fast.
Know the product. Build working knowledge of the brands and tiers we carry, common fitments, seasonal demand (winter, all-season, AG, commercial), and how to position Global Tire Distributors against competitors.
Track your pipeline. Log visits, contacts, quotes, and orders in our CRM every day. Hit weekly activity targets (visits, new accounts opened, quotes sent) and review pipeline with your manager weekly.
Represent the brand. Show up clean, on time, and prepared. You are the face of Global Tire Distributors in every shop you walk into.
What We’re Looking For
Hustle and self-direction. You’re comfortable working from your truck or car, planning your own route, and managing your day without someone over your shoulder.
People skills. You can walk into a busy shop, read the room, wait your turn, and earn a few minutes with the owner without being pushy.
Communication. Clear on the phone, professional over text and email, and able to write a quote a customer can actually understand.
Basic numbers sense. Comfortable with margins, units, and discounts. You can do a rough quote in your head before you write it up.
Tech-comfortable. You can use a smartphone, a CRM, and email/spreadsheets without a fight. Bonus if you’ve used a CRM before.
Reliable transportation. Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and a vehicle suitable for daily territory travel (mileage reimbursement provided).
Authorization. Authorized to work in the country where the position is located.
Nice to Have (Not Required)
Prior outside sales, route sales, or B2B experience
Experience working in or selling to tire shops, auto repair shops, body shops, parts stores, or fleet operations
Familiarity with tire sizes, fitments, or DOT codes
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a strong plus
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary. Competitive base, paid bi-weekly.
Uncapped commission. Commission on every order you sell — the more you move, the more you make. Top reps significantly out-earn base.
Ramp protection. Guaranteed minimum draw during your first 90 days while you build your book.
Mileage reimbursement for territory travel.
Phone and laptop (or stipend) for quoting and CRM use in the field.
Real growth path. Top performers move into senior sales, key-account, or sales-management roles.
Global Tire Distributors is an equal opportunity employer. We hire based on what you can do and how hard you’re willing to work for our customers.
