Visitor Experience Associates
(Part-Time / Permanent)
The Museum of Arts and Design (MAD) seeks two enthusiastic and people-oriented part-time, non-exempt Visitor Experience Associates to join the Visitor Experience team. Reporting to the Visitor Experience Manager, Visitor Experience Associates are responsible for welcoming visitors in a warm, friendly manner and orienting them to the Museum and its offerings. Successful candidates are friendly extroverts who enjoy teamwork and helping others.

Primary Responsibilities
- Foster a warm and welcoming environment for Museum visitors, ensuring that they are informed of daily programming and other offerings, including membership
- Sell tickets for general admission, lectures, films, and special programs from the Admissions Desk
- Proactively promote Museum membership and provide basic member support
- Manage cash drawer in accordance with museum policies and procedures
- Answer inquiries (in person and over the phone) about exhibitions, programs, amenities, membership, and related matters
- Oversee and reply to general emails regarding museum operations, group visits, rentals, and upcoming events
- Independently resolve minor visitor issues or technical problems, escalating issues to the Visitor Experience Manager as needed
- Facilitate efficient visitor and group tour queueing in the Lobby
- Supports MAD’s audience research initiative by administering exit surveys and logging survey data
- Additional responsibilities as assigned
SKILLS And QUALIFICATIONS
- At least one year of experience in museum visitor experience, hospitality, or equivalent sales or customer service roles
- A professional, warm, and positive attitude, coupled with strong customer service, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Reliability and punctuality are essential for this role
- Thrives in a team-oriented environment
- Interest and/or knowledge of the arts, especially art, craft, and design, with an eagerness to learn about MAD’s exhibitions and programs
- Proficiency and comfort with mobile technology, especially iPads and Office 365 (Teams, Excel)
- Knowledge of ACME ticketing software or other ticketing software a plus
- Proficiency in language(s) in addition to English is a plus

Compensation, Schedule And Perks
- This is a Part-Time, Hourly (24 hours per week) position compensated at $19.44 per hour.
- Weekend availability is required. Priority consideration will be given to those who can work both Saturday and Sunday. Please share your availability in your cover letter.
- Flexibility for day, evening, weekend and select holiday shifts is required. Additional hours will be available periodically, but overtime is not expected for this role.
