The Benjamin School seeks an Upper School Dean of Students for our Palm Beach Gardens campus starting in the 2026-2027 school year. The individual hired will play a key role at The Benjamin School, focusing on overall student management in the Upper School, including developing a positive, inclusive, and empathetic school climate reflected in student activities and student-centered initiatives. The Dean of Students serves proactively as a direct school liaison among students, parents, teachers, and administration, fostering a supportive, open, and safe Upper School campus culture. In addition, the Dean of Students, in collaboration with the Upper School leadership team, oversees the non?academic aspects of the school day, several of which are outlined below under Essential Functions.

Position Requirements And Professional Qualifications
> Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 5 years of student leadership experience in a school setting

Essential Functions
> Oversees student conduct, discipline, and the accurate record-keeping of disciplinary infractions; provides reports upon request
> Manages student supervision issues and enforces school behavioral expectations as outlined in the Student/Parent Handbook
> Assists in the planning, development, and implementation of individual student behavior plans, including suspensions, Dean’s Probation, and Citizenship Probation; maintains appropriate records and reports
> Identifies areas for schoolwide student life improvement, creates programs to address and monitor these areas
> Serves as security lead for Upper School; coordinates the general security of the campus on a daily basis and coordinates crisis response drills on at least a monthly basis, as well as the pick-up/dismissal process each day
> Oversees and enforces attendance policies; maintains appropriate records and reports
> Counsels students as necessary and works with and makes referrals to Student Services for counseling and support when needed
> Works in conjunction with Upper School Head, School Nurse, Student Services personnel, and School Counselor in health crisis management situations
> Manages Student Clubs program; maintains attendance records, schedules, evaluates clubs for continuance, and reviews requests for new clubs
> Plans and oversees school assemblies and special days
> Serves as a liaison to Grade-Level Deans and Parent Association grade representatives
> Monitors campus daily for security purposes; works closely with the external school security group
> Supervises school events and other after-school activities
> Assigns duties, as needed, and in collaboration with the Head of Upper School, for before and after school coverage
> Works closely with the Honor Council advisor and Honor Council members
> Oversees and organizes lunch daily, including ordering, distribution, and monitoring
> Other duties as assigned by the Head of School and/or the Head of Upper School
Physical And Work Requirements
> Remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
> Occasionally move about the campuses and lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
> Work in excess of 8 hours a day, as well as evening and weekend hours as necessary
