NYC Buy‑Side Analyst Opportunity | Insurance‑Backed Capital Platform
We are working on a selective buy‑side Analyst role in New York with a scaled, insurance‑backed investment platform deploying long‑duration, permanent capital across asset‑based and specialty finance opportunities. This is not a traditional fund or syndication seat — it’s a true balance‑sheet investing role with stability, flexibility, and breadth that’s hard to find at the junior level.
The team invests across structured credit, asset‑based lending, NAV financings, specialty finance platforms, and hybrid capital solutions, with exposure that spans FIG, insurance, sports/media, and technology‑enabled assets. The mandate is opportunistic and data‑driven, with a strong emphasis on underwriting, downside protection, and long‑term ownership rather than short‑term monetization.
The Role
This Analyst will sit on a lean, high‑visibility investing team and work directly with senior leadership on live transactions and strategic initiatives. The seat combines buyside investing reps with broader strategic exposure, including underwriting new investments, evaluating partnerships, supporting capital raises, and helping launch new business lines tied to the insurance balance sheet.
You’re getting real buy‑side responsibility: building models, assessing risk, structuring deals, managing workstreams, and engaging externally — not just execution support.
Qualifications
This role specifically targets candidates with insurance‑adjacent experience. Ideal profiles include:
- 1–3 years of experience from:
- Investment banking (FIG, insurance, asset‑based finance, structured credit)
- Private equity or private credit with insurance or financial institutions exposure
- Insurance‑focused consulting, corporate development, or strategy teams
- Strong financial modeling skills and comfort evaluating complex capital structures
- Intellectual curiosity, strong work ethic, and ability to juggle varied, fast‑moving projects
- Interest in insurance‑backed investing, permanent capital, and non‑traditional asset finance
Buy‑side experience is welcome but not required — what matters is insurance relevance, analytical strength, and adaptability.
Why This Seat Is Different
- Permanent capital backed by insurance liabilities — no fundraising pressure
- Exposure across credit, structured solutions, growth equity, and strategic investments
- Lean team = ownership, visibility, and accelerated learning
- Strong optionality: long‑term career seat or excellent exits
- NYC‑based with a flexible, adult work environment
This is an outstanding opportunity for someone who wants to step beyond a “two‑year analyst box” and build real investing judgment inside a stable, sophisticated financial platform.
