Local North Orange County, CA Street Sweeping company looking to train you to operate our street sweepers. $23/hr during 2-4 week initial training.Then $24-30 per hour. How fast you go from $24 to $30 is up to you. We don't rely on seniority; we rely on performance and competence. You can grow faster than someone hired before you.
Yes, we "drive", but only to and from the jobsite. Once there, we are operators putting on a performance. Even a layperson can tell a skilled artisan by watching them work. Sweeper Operators are the same. There are "drivers," and there are "Craftsmen". We are looking for those with a passion to be masters of their craft.
(We use the term Craftsman, but women make great operators as well.)

The position includes major medical, life insurance, and paid vacation time. Not everyone needs the same benefits, which can be negotiated and tailored to the individual.
Start times and end times change every day, and hours vary every week. However, this is full-time work.We work locally, so you are home every night.You will be working outdoors and in many varied environments. Our current position is for daytime work,but the day can start early as in 4:00 am.
No sweeping experience needed.
Class C driver's license (or above) A good 10 year driving record is required.
No alcohol-related convictions within 10 years.
Must have the ability to speak, understand, write and read English
Must be familiar with map & routing apps such as Waze or Google Maps.
Must have a smartphone – we use phone apps for routing and timesheets
Must be able to follow verbal & written directions (including these)
Ability to work independently, customer service skills, organizational skills, and a positive attitude are required
Must pass DOT type physical.
Must be in good physical condition. (we operate on construction sites)
Must be able to lift 50 lbs on a frequent basis.
Must be able to climb into and onto the vehicles up to a hundred times per day.
Must be at least 23 years old (21 with military or special training.)
Must be able to work long hours and weekends.
Must live within 15-20 minutes of the City of Fullerton – or willing to relocate within 3 months of getting position. (FYI: many people think they can drive a sweeper 8-12 hours per day, then add a 45-60 min. commute at each end. Burnout is so fast that we won't even consider it. It also means you are not close enough to pick up extra hours.)
Basic mechanical automotive experience is required. (These are not part of the everyday job duties but are used as guides to determine what "basic" refers to.The successful applicant would be confident in the following: changing belts, oil, filters, auto tires, tail light bulbs, and spark plugs.
Construction experience in any trade or driving experience is a plus. Successful applicants have had previous experience in carpet cleaning, HVAC, Plumbing, trucking, logistics, public works, and forklifts etc.
