The Position
This is a full-time sales role within our Residential Division, the side of our business focused on homeowners throughout Orange County. Our residential work covers a wide range of electrical services including panel replacements, lighting, dedicated circuits, ceiling fans, and more.
You will be responsible for the full sales cycle: answering inbound calls, booking estimates, attending those estimates in person, building accurate proposals, and closing work. When a deal is closed, your job is not finished. You will coordinate all job details with our technicians, update the job profile and our CRM, and remain the point of contact for any clarifications the field crew needs before and during the work.
This position is the first impression our customers have of Tradesman Electric and a critical link in delivering an excellent experience from the first phone call through the completion of the work. We take that seriously, and we need someone who does too.
Who We Are
The Tradesman Electric, Inc. operates two divisions: our HOA Division, which handles large-scale electrical panel replacement programs for HOA communities, and our Residential Division, which serves individual homeowners across Orange County with panels, lighting, dedicated circuits, ceiling fans, and a full range of electrical services. This position is focused exclusively on the Residential Division. We are expanding that side of the business and building the team to support that growth.

What Sales Looks Like Here
Our best results have never come from pressure. They come from technical knowledge, honest assessment, and guiding a customer to the right decision for their specific situation. The customer either needs the work or they do not. They want it or they do not. Our job is to help them understand what they have, what their options are, and what the right path forward looks like, then let them decide.
We will not tolerate high-pressure tactics. That is not who we are, and it is not how we have built 35 years of trust in this community. The sales professionals who excel here are technically sharp, genuinely curious about the customer's needs, and more focused on solving a problem than closing a transaction.
In fact, some of the best salespeople we have seen come out of the trades. A technician who knows the work inside and out, communicates it clearly, and actually cares about the outcome. That is the profile we are looking for.
What We Are Looking For
Required: Proven, active sales experience. You have done this work and done it well.
- Demonstrated sales track record. You can speak to results, not just experience.
- Highly competent and technical in nature. You understand what you are selling and can articulate it clearly without talking over the customer's head.
- Strong on the phone and in person. This role requires both, and you need to be effective at both.
- Detail-oriented and organized. Proposals need to be accurate, CRM entries need to be complete, and the field crew needs to be able to execute based on what you hand them.
- Structured and consistent. We understand sales professionals operate with some independence, but there must be a steadiness to you. Reliability is not optional here.
- Passionate about helping people, not just closing deals. The customer's outcome matters to you personally.
- A team player who wants to be part of something, not just earn a commission and move on.
- Strong Preference: Sales experience in the contracting or trades industry. Electrical sales experience is the top preference. If you have sold in a technical trade environment and understand how contractors operate, you are exactly who we are looking for. If your sales background is in another industry but your results are exceptional and you are eager to learn the technical side, we will consider it.
