Our client, a growing property inspection company serving several of the top five insurance carriers in the U.S., is seeking a strategic and hands-on Chief Information Officer / Chief Technology Officer (CIO / CTO) to lead their technology vision and execution as they continue to scale.
The CIO / CTO will be responsible for developing and executing the company’s technology strategy, ensuring our systems support operational efficiency, data integrity, and client expectations within the insurance ecosystem. This leader will evaluate and implement practical technology solutions, manage key technology vendors and partners, and establish a clear technology roadmap aligned with business goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a technology roadmap aligned with company growth and operational needs.
- Evaluate, recommend, and implement technology solutions that improve efficiency, scalability, and data quality across the organization.
- Manage and oversee technology vendors and partners, including contract evaluation, performance management, and solution delivery.
- Ensure reliable, secure, and scalable IT infrastructure, platforms, and integrations that support field inspection operations and carrier reporting requirements.
- Partner with executive leadership to identify opportunities to leverage technology to improve workflows, automation, and reporting.
- Lead data management and system integration initiatives that connect inspection platforms, carrier systems, and internal reporting tools.
- Establish and maintain strong information security and compliance practices, including oversight of audits and controls.
Technology Leadership Responsibilities (CIO / CTO)
- Define and execute the overall technology strategy, balancing operational IT needs with long-term platform innovation.
- Establish and maintain the company’s technology architecture and standards, ensuring scalable, reliable, and secure systems.
- Lead the design and evolution of inspection platforms, mobile field tools, and data workflows used by inspectors and carrier clients.
- Oversee software development and system architecture, whether through internal teams or external development partners.
- Evaluate and implement modern technologies that improve inspection efficiency, automation, data quality, and reporting.
- Guide the development of API integrations and data exchanges with insurance carrier systems.
- Ensure platforms are built with security, reliability, and compliance in mind, including SOC 2 Type II requirements.
- Identify opportunities to leverage AI, automation, and analytics to improve inspection workflows and deliver more value to carrier clients.
- Establish technology governance, development standards, and system documentation.
- Collaborate with operations and product stakeholders to ensure technology solutions directly support business growth and client needs.
Qualifications
- 15+ years of progressive experience in information technology, with at least 7–10 years in senior technology leadership roles.
- Proven experience developing and executing enterprise technology strategies in growing organizations.
- Demonstrated experience managing large-scale technology projects, system implementations, and digital transformation initiatives.
- Experience managing significant technology budgets and overseeing multi-million-dollar technology investments.
- Strong ability to translate business needs into practical, scalable technology solutions.
- Experience managing external technology vendors, development partners, and complex technology ecosystems.
- Insurance, insurtech, or insurance services experience desired but not required.
- Experience supporting field service or operationally intensive businesses is a plus.
- SOC 2 Type II audit experience strongly preferred, including implementing and maintaining related security and compliance controls.
- Project management certification such as PMP, Scrum, or Agile certification desired.
- Position requires regular onsite presence to collaborate with leadership, operations, and technology teams.
