Job Responsibilities
Comprehends, interprets, and follows medical prescriptions for Physical Therapy. Applies the accepted principles, methods, and procedures of measurement, prediction, and evaluation tests to assess patient's strengths and limitations, and assists patient to achieve objective short and long term goals. Demonstrates knowledge of side effects and complications of services provided.
Administers and interprets clinical physical therapy services for assigned patients. Adjusts treatments according to patient's response to planned physical therapy treatment protocol.
Maintains accurate records of each patient's treatment, progress, and/or regression according to the Service Delivery Standard using paper or electronic systems, as necessary. Maintains all necessary records required to meet the criteria established by reimbursement and regulatory agencies.
Establishes and maintains effective working relationship with patients, their families, and other staff personnel. Participates in patient care conferences with other professionals involved in the management of cases. Provides patient and family education, as needed.
Participates in planning decisions for patient's post‐discharge placement. Makes appropriate referrals and follows up to ensure proper placement and programming of patient. Interfaces with vendor to provide needed durable medical equipment.
Provides direction to Physical TherapistAssistants, departmental support staff, departmental clerical staff (as duties relate to treatment), physical therapy students, and volunteers.
Has knowledge of and participates in departmental and organizational initiatives for performance improvement (PI).
Pursues professional development and contributes to department learning.

Work Environment
- ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in a department which consists of several clinical rooms and offices, and sometimes requires working in close quarters with other employees. These rooms are all air conditioned as well as heated. Work may also be performed in patient rooms throughout the hospitals or at an offsite location, as determined by contractual services.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:
As needed, gloves, mask, gown, other personal protective equipment, as per blood and body fluid and isolation precautions. Off‐site locations may require safety goggles, ear plugs, hard hat, steel‐toed shoes, or other personal protective equipment required by the off‐site location.
