The Vice President of Information Technology is a strategic technology leader responsible for shaping, driving, and executing the enterprise IT vision with a strong emphasis on AI enablement, cybersecurity maturity, digital transformation, and operational excellence. This role oversees enterprise systems, infrastructure, data architecture, cybersecurity programs, and technology operations to ensure secure, scalable, and cost-effective delivery of IT services that support business growth.
The VP of IT leads cross-functional technical teams, drives modernization initiatives across hybrid cloud environments, and ensures alignment of all technology programs with organizational objectives. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, CIS, CMMC), cloud architecture (AWS/Azure), AI-driven automation, IT governance, and enterprise program execution.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership & Technology Vision
- Develop and execute a forward-looking IT strategy centered on AI capabilities, cybersecurity resilience, modern data architecture, and enterprise digital transformation.
- Build multi-year technology roadmaps supporting organizational growth, operational efficiency, and risk reduction.
- Serve as the executive advisor on technology trends, emerging cyber threats, AI adoption, infrastructure scaling, and digital innovation.
Cybersecurity & Risk Management
- Lead the design and maturity of cybersecurity programs aligned with NIST, CIS, CMMC, Zero Trust, and industry best practices.
- Drive continuous improvement in security posture through governance, access control enhancements, security automation, threat monitoring, penetration testing, and incident response readiness.
- Oversee enterprise risk management, security assessments, audit readiness, and compliance programs.
- Implement robust identity and access management (IAM), multi-factor authentication, PAM, and cloud security frameworks.
AI, Automation & Data Architecture
- Drive adoption of AI-powered solutions across operations, analytics, security, and support functions to increase efficiency and reduce manual workloads.
- Oversee development of enterprise data governance frameworks, data quality standards, and secure data lifecycle management.
- Partner with business leaders to identify and implement AI-driven capabilities that accelerate decision-making and process optimization.
Enterprise Systems, Infrastructure & Cloud
- Oversee enterprise-wide technology platforms including ERP, CRM, HRIS, middleware, collaboration suites, and custom applications.
- Lead cloud modernization initiatives including AWS and Azure migrations, hybrid infrastructure optimization, automation, and standardization.
- Ensure stability, reliability, and scalability of infrastructure, networks, and critical business systems.
- Champion business continuity planning, disaster recovery operations, and resilience engineering.
Financial Management & Operational Excellence
- Own the IT budget, technology portfolio, and vendor ecosystem-driving cost optimization, contract negotiation, and long-term value creation.
- Implement governance structures, PMO standards, and enterprise frameworks to improve project delivery, reduce risks, and enhance operational efficiency.
- Drive measurable reductions in IT cost and improvements in system availability, security posture, and user experience.
Team Leadership & Organizational Development
- Lead high-performing teams across cybersecurity, application development, cloud engineering, data architecture, PMO, and IT operations.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Mentor technical and leadership talent while developing future leadership pipelines.
QualificationsRequired
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field.
- 10+ years of progressive IT leadership experience with oversight across infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud, and enterprise systems.
- Proven success developing and executing enterprise IT strategies, cybersecurity programs, and modernization initiatives.
- Demonstrated achievements in cybersecurity enhancement, risk reduction, operational efficiency, and technology cost optimization.
- Experience leading complex cloud transformations, enterprise migrations, and large-scale system implementations.
Preferred
- Security certifications such as Security+, CISSP, CISM, CEH, or equivalent.
- Experience with AI governance, applied machine learning use cases, or AI-driven operational automation.
- Multi-industry experience (healthcare, staffing, manufacturing, professional services, or enterprise operations).
- Experience leading PMO functions, data governance, SOC partnerships, and executive steering committees.
