Description
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve assigned systems based on the requirements of the org
- Maintain telephone and internet equipment/services, top to bottom, at all facilities
- Manage ordering, porting, or decommissioning telephone or internet services as needed
- Engage in project-based work related to various software or technologies
- Provide on-site support to operating entities at multiple geographic locations when needed
- Install and configure appropriate software according to the needs of the field
- Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with firewalls, switches, AP, and other parts of the network infrastructure
- Provide training and guidance to users on how to operate telephone systems
- Organize and schedule maintenance without deterring others from completing their work
- Diagnose and resolve problems via thorough analysis and troubleshooting. Exercise discretion and independent judgment to implement solutions
- Document processes for repairs and fixes, to aid in training and faster resolution for other technicians
- Identify equipment shortages and report to leaders for ordering
- Identify and fix any under-utilization of IT resources, or propose a plan to leadership for changes
- Track issues to resolution and update tickets as needed
- Update the field with issue resolutions or ETR
- Perform tasks/projects as requested by IT leadership
Requirements
A qualifying candidate will possess all of the following minimum requirements:
- 4-year college degree or equivalent work experience
- Customer service and performance driven
- Thorough knowledge of Windows. General knowledge of MacOS and Linux
- Thorough understanding of networking basics
- Thorough knowledge of M365 including Entra, Exchange, Teams, and Intune
- Experience managing OneDrive, SharePoint, or other cloud-based storage repositories
- Experience writing PowerShell scripts to automate workflows
- Experience with patch management and general system maintenance
- Experience with cloud backups and disaster recovery processes
- Experience creating comprehensive system and process documentation
- Project management skills
- Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Possess the ability to make independent decisions and exercise discretion and judgment
- Possess the ability to interact respectfully and professionally with personnel, residents, visitors, and he general public. Able to be calm and level-headed in emergencies
- Well groomed, professionally dressed, professional demeanor, and possess the ability to work harmoniously with others inside and outside the department
- Willing and able to seek out new skills and techniques to increase proficiency and to incorporate them into existing practices
A preferred candidate will possess some or all of the following:
- Current CompTIA Network+ or Security+, or higher level certifications
- CCNA and/or other Cisco/Meraki certifications
- Azure or other Microsoft certifications
- Experience with Asterisk phone systems
- Experience with Grandstream products
- Experience with Cisco Meraki dashboard and products
- Experience with automated workflows
- Experience with virtual desktops and thin clients
- Experience in Healthcare IT
Working Conditions
- Work in office areas, basements, network rooms (MDF/IDF), Telco Rooms, and other storage areas
- Moves intermittently and requently during working hours
- Local and travel by air when required, (25% or more). Trip length of up to two weeks, as needed. Schedules are subject to changes
- Works beyond regular working hours daily on weekends and holidays, only when necessary.
- Subject to call-back during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.)
