Job Description
RRD is seeking an energetic, enthusiastic & motivated student to join our team this Summer as an IT Information Security Intern!
***THIS IS A HYBRID POSITION***
Position Summary
Responsible for understanding key information security security controls, how each contributes to reduction in overall risk, and which security tools and platforms support them.
Responsibilities
- Participate in Security Operations Center activities, including review of Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) alerts, Security Information and Event Manager (SIEM) alerts and logs.
- Participate in Security Incident Response training and events as requested.
- Assist with investigations for potential email phishing campaigns and interact with end-users with questions.
- Help create and participate in anti-phishing training campaigns.
- Become familiar with pen-testing principles and procedures, participate in activities related to penetration testing of RRD applications.
- Gather and report on security performance statistics, including but not limited to detection mean time to respond/mean time to resolve, security incident mean time to respond, vulnerability management resolution SLA’s compliance.
- May be responsible for the effective deployment of security tools in the group.
- Resolve routine problems independently. Apply technical abilities to recognize, research, and resolve security engineering issues.
- Keep technical management informed about progress, problems, and activities.
- Work directly with the manager to identify key areas for improvement to align department objectives with overall infrastructure objectives
- Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Pursuing degree in Information Security, Information Systems, or Computer/Network Engineering or related field.
- Having completed some IT Security courses is preferred.
- Previous experience in endpoint, server, or networking technologies is preferred.
- Must have strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task various initiatives and activities.
- Consistently deliver prescribed outcomes in a timely and accurate manner with appropriate guidance.
- Apply existing processes and procedures to solve problems and may receive guidance for problems that are non-routine.
- Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Additional Information
The rate of pay for this role at the noted location is $24.00 / hour. In addition to base pay, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include overtime, shift differential, call-in, and stand-by pay.
