Zeichner Ellman & Krause, a medium-sized prestigious New York-based commercial law firm, is seeking a seeking a full-time, on-site IT Help Desk Technician. This role is ideal for someone with entry-level technology experience and a desire to support a professional legal environment. You will be the first point of contact for technical support, helping attorneys and staff resolve hardware, software, and network issues efficiently and professionally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide first-level technical support via phone, email, and in-person
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and legal software applications
- Assist with user account setup, password resets, and access permissions in Active Directory and other systems
- Maintain and update IT inventory and support logs
- Escalate complex issues to our outside IT service provider or vendors as needed.
- Support video conferencing and remote access tools (e.g., Zoom, Teams, VPN)
- Ensure compliance with firm security policies and procedures
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding of employees from a technology perspective
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 1–2 years of experience in a help desk or technical support role
- Basic understanding of Windows OS, Microsoft Office Suite, and networking fundamentals.
- Familiarity with legal software (e.g., document management systems, timekeeping tools) is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Organized and reliable, with strong follow-through and proactive communication
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to learn and grow within the IT field
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Active Directory and Office 365 administration
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices
- Exposure to legal technology platforms (e.g., NetDocuments)
Salary range:
- $55,000 - $65,000 commensurate with experience
- Overtime eligible
