Zeichner Ellman & Krause, a medium-sized prestigious New York-based commercial law firm, is seeking a seeking a full-time, on-site IT Help Desk Technician. This role is ideal for someone with entry-level technology experience and a desire to support a professional legal environment. You will be the first point of contact for technical support, helping attorneys and staff resolve hardware, software, and network issues efficiently and professionally.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide first-level technical support via phone, email, and in-person
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and legal software applications
Assist with user account setup, password resets, and access permissions in Active Directory and other systems
Maintain and update IT inventory and support logs
Escalate complex issues to our outside IT service provider or vendors as needed.
Support video conferencing and remote access tools (e.g., Zoom, Teams, VPN)
Ensure compliance with firm security policies and procedures
Assist with onboarding and offboarding of employees from a technology perspective

Qualifications:

Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
1–2 years of experience in a help desk or technical support role
Basic understanding of Windows OS, Microsoft Office Suite, and networking fundamentals.
Familiarity with legal software (e.g., document management systems, timekeeping tools) is a plus
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Organized and reliable, with strong follow-through and proactive communication
Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently in a fast-paced environment
Willingness to learn and grow within the IT field

Preferred Skills:

Experience with Active Directory and Office 365 administration
Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices
Exposure to legal technology platforms (e.g., NetDocuments)

Salary range:

$55,000 - $65,000 commensurate with experience
Overtime eligible
