Position Summary:The Operations Manager - Pavement Marking is responsible for overseeing all aspects of pavement marking operations across their assigned territory. This role ensures projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with DOT and client specifications. The manager leads field crews, supervises PMT I-III personnel, coordinates with contractors and municipalities, manages inventory and equipment, and ensures customer satisfaction while maintaining profitability and operational excellence.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong field knowledge, project management capabilities, and financial oversight. The Operations Manager will also represent RoadSafe Traffic Systems in customer meetings, collaborate with internal departments, and enforce company policies and safety standards.
Essential Functions: - Oversee and direct pavement marking crews to ensure timely, safe, and quality execution of projects.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and municipalities regarding project updates, changes, and billing.
- Plan, schedule, and manage all aspects of pavement marking operations, including staffing, training, material procurement, and equipment maintenance.
- Monitor and inspect job sites for compliance with safety regulations, specifications, and performance standards.
- Coordinate and communicate with estimating, accounting, and inventory teams to align operational needs with financial targets.
- Maintain traffic control devices such as cones and barricades in accordance with safety and project requirements.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of daily production and weekly revenue forecasts.
- Lead by example in promoting a strong safety culture and business ethics across the team.
- Respond to after-hours issues, including evenings and weekends, to meet critical project deadlines.
- Hire, train, evaluate, and develop employees; provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: - Strong understanding of state and federal specifications for traffic control and pavement marking.
- Proven ability to lead high-performing teams in a fast-paced, field-based environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Viewpoint (training provided).
- Skilled in interpreting financial reports, including profit and loss statements.
- Familiarity with DOT regulations, traffic control plans, permits, and jobsite safety standards.
Education & Experience Requirements: - Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in pavement marking, traffic control, or related safety operations.
- At least 5 years of supervisory or management experience.
- Valid Driver's License required; CDL preferred.
- 4,000+ field hours and successful completion of ATSSA TCS and Pavement Marking Intermediate courses (or state equivalents).
- Must pass background check, drug test, and meet federal DOT requirements.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs and work in outdoor conditions for extended periods.
