PURPOSEAs a Regional Director, you will bring VASA's purpose to life by building high-performing teams and delivering an exceptional team and member experience. In the mid-west region with significant growth plans, you will lead the development and execution of strategies that expand market presence, optimize club performance, and position VASA competitively.
This role requires strong operational leadership, strategic planning, a pulse on competitive dynamics, and an ability to rapidly solve challenges with urgency and cross-functional partnership.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESLeadership & People Development- Inspire and lead district managers and club leadership teams to uphold VASA's culture and mission.
- Use a servant leadership approach to coach and develop others, build trust, and drive accountability.
- Partner closely with HR and Talent Acquisition to recruit top leaders and support ongoing talent development, succession planning, and promotional pipelines.
- Conduct regular talent and performance reviews with a focus on future growth needs and accountability.
Strategic Growth & Execution- Partner with internal stakeholders to align regional strategy with company-wide initiatives and market expansion goals.
- Drive region-wide performance through effective planning, forecasting, and execution.
- Build, evolve, and scale systems and processes that support a fast-paced growth environment.
- Lead cross-functional efforts to launch new locations or major regional projects.
Data-Driven Field Leadership & Operational Agility- Maintain a strong presence in the field through regular club visits, team interactions, and operational audits.
- Gather and analyze data from the field--including performance metrics, member and employee feedback, and club observations--to proactively identify opportunities and implement timely solutions.
- Act quickly to resolve operational issues, collaborating with support functions as needed to drive resolution.
- Foster a culture of urgency, ownership, and creative problem-solving in day-to-day operations.
Competitive Intelligence & Market Awareness- Maintain a deep understanding of the local market, including competitor offerings, marketing activity, pricing strategies, and member sentiment.
- Leverage competitor insights and market trends to inform tactical and strategic decisions that position VASA for differentiation and long-term advantage.
- Share relevant field intel with corporate stakeholders to influence programming, product development, and brand strategy.
Sales & Member Experience- Oversee execution of regional sales plans, supporting district managers in driving membership growth and member engagement and retention.
- Establish and refine training and development programs that strengthen the sales culture and improve conversion metrics.
- Champion VASA's member experience standards and work cross-functionally to enhance service delivery and retention.
Financial & Operational Excellence- Own full regional P&L performance, with responsibility for cost control, revenue generation, and EBITDA achievement.
- Ensure clubs adhere to operational best practices, safety protocols, cleanliness standards, and equipment maintenance plans.
- Collaborate with Facilities, Finance, Marketing, HR and Fitness divisions to drive operational consistency and innovation.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES- 5+ years of multi-unit leadership experience in fitness, retail, or hospitality.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams in high-growth or evolving regions.
- Exceptional skills in business planning, P&L management, and operational execution.
- Proven ability to synthesize data from field insights and take timely, decisive action.
- Strong market awareness and experience utilizing competitive intelligence for strategic advantage.
- Inspirational leadership style with a strong sense of urgency, accountability, and collaboration.
- Deep operational knowledge of fitness facilities, service delivery, and team development.
- Markets in Midwest. 40% travel time required
WORKING CONDITIONSPrimary work in a fitness facility and office setting. Temperature variations can occur. The environment includes some ambient noise such as talking and use of gym equipment and machinery.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS- Talking: Especially where one must frequently convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly.
- Physical Strength: Sitting, standing and walking. Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move a minimum of 30 pounds.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to deal with a variety of variables under limited standardization. Able to interpret various instructions and relay instructions to clients
- Attendance is an essential duty of the position. Employees must work regularly scheduled shifts, during business hours to assist members and sell services in-person.
