Position Overview
We’re looking for a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. You will design, develop, and improve parts and assemblies for our fabrication projects, ensuring functionality, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a hands-on, fast-paced manufacturing environment and loves turning ideas into reality.
Responsibilities
• Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D CAD models for metal parts, assemblies, and prototypes
• BOM Organizing
• Digital File Management
• Work closely with shop floor teams to ensure designs are production-ready
• Select materials and finishes suited for durability, performance, and cost
• Apply manufacturing best practices, tolerances, and standards
• Collaborate with team to meet design requirements and deadlines
• Support R&D for new product concepts and improvements
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Proficient in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar)
• Strong understanding of metal fabrication processes (welding, cutting, bending, machining)
• Knowledge of GD&T and engineering documentation standards
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Proficient at Microsoft Office, Excel, Solid Works
Preferred Skills
• Experience with automation systems or custom machinery design
• Familiarity with finite element analysis (FEA)
• Hands-on shop or prototyping experience
