Position Overview
The Fitness Assistant supports the daily operations of our fitness center and leads both land-based and aquatic fitness classes for senior residents. This role plays an important part in promoting wellness, independence, and an active lifestyle within our community.
Qualifications
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and TB test
Fingerprint clearance as required by licensure regulations
Passion for working with older adults
Fitness or aquatic exercise experience preferred
Responsibilities
Open and/or close the fitness center
Lead group fitness and aquatic exercise classes
Teach Arthritis Foundation Aquatic Program (AFAP) classes after certification
Maintain accurate attendance and participation records
Clean and organize fitness equipment and exercise areas
Manage resident sign-ins, activity tracking, and health screening documentation
Support a safe, welcoming, and engaging fitness environment
