# Now Hiring: After-School Chess Instructors & Sports Coaches
**International Activities Club (IAC) | Part-Time, Wednesday Availability Needed | Orange County, CA**
IAC is looking for dependable, engaging instructors to lead after-school enrichment classes for elementary and middle school students at local school sites.
## Immediate openings
- **Chess instructors**
- **Sports coaches**, especially for **Basketball** and **Flag Football**
We currently need Wednesday availability. Some classes begin as early as **1:00 p.m.**, which may require arriving at the school by **12:30 p.m.** Arrival and class times vary by assignment and will be shared in advance.
We are also interviewing for **future Winter Volleyball classes** and continue to meet candidates interested in other IAC programs, including arts, writing, and additional enrichment subjects.
## What you’ll do
- Lead a fun, organized, age-appropriate class in your subject.
- Keep students engaged and support a safe, positive environment.
- Communicate reliably with IAC about attendance, class needs, and schedule changes.
- Arrive on time and be ready to teach at the assigned school site.
## What we’re looking for
- Strong knowledge or experience in the subject or sport you’d like to teach.
- Enjoyment working with children and the ability to lead a group.
- Dependability, punctuality, and clear communication.
- Availability on Wednesdays for current openings.
- Reliable transportation to assigned school sites in the Irvine, Tustin, and nearby Orange County areas.
Teaching, coaching, childcare, or youth-program experience is helpful. Enthusiastic candidates with strong subject skills are encouraged to apply.
## Position details
- Part-time, after-school assignments; schedules and class times depend on placement.
- Independent contractor position (1099); paid per class. Compensation varies by assignment and experience and will be discussed during the hiring process.
- IAC onboarding includes instructor information and safety training forms, joining the staff Discord, and submitting a W-9.
- Live Scan clearance is required before working at a school site. TB clearance is not required.
