Retail Materials + Shop Apprentice (Wildomar) — $18–$25/hr to start
Aster & Cedar is a fast-growing retail building materials and design store in Wildomar. We offer advanced services beyond selling materials, including custom cutting, custom door hanging, design consultations, measurements, and delivery. We’re looking for a reliable Shop Apprentice who’s energetic, dependable, and flexible—able to support both shop production work and customer-facing store tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with custom cutting in the shop (training provided)
Support custom door hanging preparation and production tasks
Prepare materials for design work and customer orders
Help with measurements and job-ready preparation (as assigned and under supervision)
Support design consultations by coordinating materials, specifications, and order details (as you learn)
Mix paint for customer orders (as assigned)
Operate and support shop equipment (including a door hanging machine and spray machine as directed)
Load, stage, and deliver materials as needed
Perform inventory and stocking duties; help keep the shop organized
Operate a forklift when required (forklift certification is a bonus)
Retail / Customer Service Duties (Required)
Work the register as needed: check in/check out customers and assist with transactions
Provide friendly, professional service at the counter
Communicate order status and help route customers/questions to the right person
Support a clean, organized front-of-house store area
Job Requirements
Dependable and punctual; strong work ethic
High energy and willingness to learn
Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy shop/store environment
Basic math skills and ability to interpret simple documents/instructions
Courteous, professional communication with customers and coworkers
Flexibility to move between shop tasks and register/store tasks

Physical Requirements
Ability to lift 50–75 lbs intermittently throughout the day
Ability to bend, squat, and stretch for stocking and inventory tasks
Ability to stand or sit for long periods
Compensation & Benefits

$18–$25/hr to start (experience dependent)
